Skate Book

This work highlights the body during the act of skateboarding through digital collage. As someone who is not an actual skateboarder, I used my appreciation and awe of the sport through the creation of this book. The cover is wrapped in black sandpaper, mimicking the appearances of a skateboard’s grip tape. The edges of the cover reveal a light brown, smooth material, which reflects the wooden edges of a skateboard. All photographs were taken by me, ranging from 2017 to 2020 at the Venice Skatepark and the Chattanooga Skatepark.
